SCYFOOD > Rhône Auguste Clape Cornas Contact Customer Service ENQUIRY Since 1955, Auguste Clape, father of the current owner Pierre Clape, began growing his own grapes, and in 1968 he began bottling the wine ex-domaine. Pierre continues to follow his father Auguste's style of slow fermentation and aging without destemming the grapes. For aging, he does not use the 600-liter barrels and small oak barrels normally used in the region, but instead brings in large old barrels from Alsace and Provence, which he has been using for over 20 years. The wine is fermented and aged in barrels separately according to vineyard plot and age of the vines, and then blended before bottling. The "Cornas" is made from the best, oldest parcels of vines, and maximizes concentrated fruit flavors and fine tannins. 75cl
